Poultry Processing Equipment
(Year-round) $25/day, $50/weekend (plus tax)
Whatcom CD provides low-cost rental of equipment for small-scale producers to safely process poultry for home consumption, or to slaughter poultry for direct marketing with a WSDA permit. This equipment is for loan to residents in Whatcom County. WCD poultry processing equipment is available for a rental fee of $25/day, $50/weekend.
Poultry Processing Equipment Pick Up & Drop Off Times
Poultry Processing Equipment is available for pick up and drop off at the WCD office Monday through Friday. Pick up and drop off can be done between 7:30am to 10am and between 2pm to 4:00pm. You need to pick up or return prior to close.
Units Available for Rent
Unit 1:
Brand new Featherman Set up with dunker and cone stand. Pick up this equipment in the enclosed utility trailer (2" ball) Included: 2 transport crate, 8 chicken cones, 2 turkey cones, 1 XL turkey cone, cone stand, scalder with lid and thermometer, dunker, plucker, stainless steel table, manual and bleach. Also includes dolly for moving equipment.
Unit 2:
Complete Featherman set up, but you need to bring transport for the equipment (truck or trailer is best). Included: 1 transport crate, 4 chicken cones, 3 turkey cones, 1 XL turkey cone, scalder with lid and thermometer, plucker, stainless steel table, manual and bleach.
What You Provide
Electric cords, propane to heat scalder, hoses, knives, chill tanks and scrubbing brushes for clean up.
