Manure Spreader

A manure spreader in a field ejects contents; text reads "6mph MAX! No reverse when in ON."

Whatcom Conservation District offers low-cost rental of a manure spreader for small-scale farms to apply nutrients to fields when crops are actively growing and can use them.

The spreader is a 2.5-cubic-yard, ground-driven solids spreader (Wallenstein MX25) and is available to residents of Whatcom County.

Eligibility

To be eligible to rent the spreader, you must have either:

  • A current farm plan with Whatcom Conservation District.
  • A field assessment and recommended soil test completed prior to use.

To reduce the risk of manure contamination of surface waters, Whatcom Conservation District also provides a free online Application Risk Management tool.

Please complete the worksheet for your site in advance before renting the spreader.

The manure spreader is transported on a 12-foot flatbed trailer. The combined weight of the trailer and spreader is approximately 1,500 pounds.
